Hopeful me: Babe, this is your first-ever vacation, do not think twice and just go for it.
Cynical me: Hold on! When did you become a travel buff? Don’t be excited and it’s not going to be worth it so chill and sit back!
Ah, thankfully the “hopeful me” nailed it.
Wondering what all I am talking about?
Okay so my friend was going on a solo trip to Triund. It is a popular attraction and is the crown jewel of Dharamshala. She invited me to accompany her and I said yes because she was really excited about going there. I was still sceptical and there was no urge to go. Sometimes you just say yes to your friends to see them happy and that’s okay because that’s what friendship is all about, ain’t it?
Day 1. Bhaagsu Waterfall
We left for Mcleod Ganj at 6:am from Chandigarh and reached at 2:pm. It was too hot and we weren’t happy about the climate and we started making all sort of assumptions but as soon as we reached Mcleod Ganj, there was a sudden change in the climate. It was so pleasant. We stayed in Bhaagsu at her friend’s place. We went to see the waterfall in the evening. What a beautiful sight it was. The crowd was dope and the view was amazingly beautiful.
The family we stayed with was pretty chilled out and they were kind hearted people. The little kids were too smart and we had so much fun. Just look at her! Ain’t she so adorable? Sometimes I look at her and wonder is it me? She is a poser.
Day 2; Trekking adventure.
We left for trekking at 10:30 am. We were suppose to leave early in the morning but got really late. The best time is to go in the early morning because by the time we left, it got quite hot. I never thought I could trek for 5 long hours. I was really proud of my stamina 😉 I was flying like a bird although it was paining a lot but the excitement took its toll. As you start moving towards height, it gets all the more difficult.
It was getting cold and then came the hardest part. It started raining. The thunderstorms were too scary and there were hailstorms. No kidding but we could have literally died. It was that scary but we were lucky enough to find a giant tree and sat under it for an hour. There was no network and I so missed my loved ones, I wanted to talk to them and share the story. It was too dramatic. We made so many friends meanwhile. Everybody was different and entertaining in their own way. The rain stopped eventually but the path was so slippery so it took us more time to reach. We stopped at the food joint and enjoyed a plate of hot maggie. It tasted heavenly.
We were damn tired and the funniest part was to see the faces. We all were about to reach though but you see the typical human nature to cripple.
We finally reached our destination and damn, the only thought that popped up was that all the pain was worth it. What a beauty. I started dancing and I couldn’t take my eyes off because I never saw something so beautiful in my entire life.
It started raining again and we entered our camps. You need to make sure that you book your camps on the weekends. It’s very crowded. We were staying with a renowned family so that was a great help. We use to take their name and it’s already done by then. What a status man. 😀
We had a bonfire and there were so many people around. Everybody was chilling out and quite friendly. It was too cold outside. You must take your sweatshirts along otherwise you will die there. A little wine never hurt anybody 🙂 It was such a great time. Good laugh and good food. More than perfect.
We slept on time as there was no source of power and we were just two girls. Our safety is in our hands and we felt responsible. Next day we woke up early just to see the beauty and the entire view was damn beautiful.
Ah, here comes the sad part. We had to leave for bhaagsu and this time while we were returning back, there was no pain, nothing. We kept on talking about our experience and how great it was to be there and make some great memories.
“Travelling is like flirting with life, it’s like saying; I’d stay and love you, but I have to go, this is my station.”
You will have the time of your life. You will explore the different cultures, the amazing food and most importantly yourself 🙂
Grab your friends and go and if possible take me along as well, pleasseee 😀
